Dimensional and surface inspections

Over the years, visicontrol has developed into a specialist for dimensional and surface inspections. Surface inspection is regarded as the supreme discipline of industrial image processing.

visicontrol offers inspection and sorting machines and in-line testing systems from a single source. Our aim is to install a turnkey autonomous testing system at our customers' premises. We have been doing this so successfully for 30 years that 80% of our customers have realised two or more systems with us.

Already realised or planned inspection solutions:

Shell surface inspection (360° inspection)
Our sequencer module is used as soon as surface defects on rotationally symmetrical components need to be reliably detected. Using multiple image sequences from matrix cameras combined with a rotation station, up to 180 images per second are taken and analysed. The unwound surface can thus be analysed by visiTeach+ and the defects clearly identified.

Blowhole inspection
For the detection of blowholes, e.g. in die-cast aluminium components, especially on mechanically machined sealing surfaces. The size, accumulation and number of blowholes can be reliably recognised and documented.

CFRP tape control (CFRP starting material)
The tape inspection is used for the base material carbon fibre reinforced plastic. It is used to detect:
Manufacturing defects, material defects, resin pockets, fibre tufts, lack of resin, joints, inhomogeneity.

Fabric inspection
Fabric inspection is used in the fibre composite industry and for technical fabrics. It is used to recognise
Torn threads, inhomogeneity, damage, fibre angle distortion, resin nests, fibre tufts, lack of resin, joints.

Surface inspection
The Surface inspection is used for injection-moulded and metallic test specimens such as turned parts. We use our latest technology for the detection of: Chatter marks, scratches and Inhomogeneity of the surfaces and edge sealing, paint and primer application or contamination.

Crack and shrinkage inspection
This is used to detect defects in safety-relevant metallic components, for example.

Presence check
One area of application for the presence check is, for example, the inspection of circuit board assembly in the electrical industry.

Orientation check
In the printing industry, for example, the orientation of the printed image can be checked by means of an orientation check.

Component identification
This serves to clearly identify installed elements in order to avoid complaints

Soldering control
A solder inspection is used for automated quality assurance of soldered elements in the electrical industry.

Plug control
More and more cables and electronic components are being installed in modern vehicles, which means that the number of plug connections is also increasing. Connector inspection is used to check for under- and over-moulding, to check the pin tip position and to ensure that metal inserts such as solder pads are free of defects.

Pin inspection
The pin check is a special test for plug connections to ensure that the pins and mating parts fit perfectly.

Thread inspection
Today's demands on the supply industry are moving towards 0-ppm faulty components. To be able to guarantee this, the Thread inspection not only for testing safety-relevant screw connections, it can also differentiate between thread type and quality. This ensures that only 100% tested threads leave your factory.

PCB inspection
During PCB inspection, PCBs can be monitored as components in the production process and faulty components can be ejected at an early stage. The PCB is checked for completeness, assembly and alignment.

Print image control
There are many regulations regarding the information that must be applied to a component, e.g. by printing. During the print image check, it is checked whether the print image is correct and legibility is guaranteed.
